What is Paw-Trails all about? That’s easy. It is the landing site for all my businesses. Now you are asking yourself, who are you. Let me introduce myself. My name is Susan Laird. I am an engineer turned artist, photographer, and food blogger. Now you are asking, how did that happen? Well, that is a longer story. Set the way back machine to 2011, I found a local organic farm at the farmers market. I stuck a friendship with the farmers. As I frequented the market, my now friends would ask me for recipes on the spot to highlight their amazing produce. People would get a recipe from me and tell me that I should start a food blog. I toyed with the idea for many years. Along about 2017, I had a young dog that took up disc dogging. I would drag my camera along to club night and place the photos on Facebook for club members. A lot of club members said that I should start a photography business. During this progression, I had been taking classes at a local art center in fused and stained glass. The instructor invited me to come and work in her studio on Tuesday nights. I decided to take her up so that I could make inlays for a glass mosaic table. Once I started working in the studio, I got tons of encouragement to take some stuff to a local makers market. Now I always wanted to own my own business…but I could not figure out what kind of business that I wanted. Realizing that some good friends were giving me some massive hints, I decided to declare my art glass and photography business in 2019. Fire Paws is my art glass business and I have been frequenting the local makers market and set up an Easy site. I love selling my glass to customers who love it as much as I loved making it. I have a few photo customers but 2020 has had the photography business in the lowest gear. In late 2020, Farmers Market Forager will launch. I have more ideas for businesses and they will launch through this page. Please let me know if you have ideas.
